HEALTH AND SAFETY POLICY

1. Introduction

New Erra Entertainment Ltd, established on 20 April 2024, is a premier entertainment company dedicated to producing and promoting world-class events that celebrate African culture and foster connections through the power of entertainment. 

2. Policy Statement

We are committed to ensuring the health, safety, and welfare of our employees, clients, contractors, and attendees at all events we manage. Our goal is to provide a safe and healthy environment by adhering to all relevant health and safety legislation, including the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974.

3. Responsibilities

Managing Director:

Ensure adequate resources are allocated for health and safety obligations.

Provide necessary information, instruction, and training to employees.

Integrate health and safety considerations into all planning and decision-making processes.

Review and update the health and safety policy regularly.

Health and Safety Coordinator:

Monitor the implementation of the health and safety policy through regular audits and inspections.

Investigate accidents and implement corrective actions.

Stay informed about changes in health and safety legislation and ensure compliance.

Liaise with employees, contractors, and relevant authorities on health and safety matters.

Employees and Contractors:

Take reasonable care for their own health and safety and that of others affected by their actions.

Cooperate with the company to enable it to fulfill its health and safety obligations.

Use equipment and materials in accordance with training and instructions.

Report any hazards, incidents, or near misses to the Health and Safety Coordinator.

4. Risk Assessment

We will conduct comprehensive risk assessments for all our activities and events to identify potential hazards and implement appropriate control measures. These assessments will be reviewed regularly and updated as necessary.

5. Training and Competence

We will provide appropriate health and safety training to all employees and contractors to ensure they are competent in their roles. This includes induction training for new staff and specific training related to their job functions.

6. Emergency Procedures

We will establish and maintain effective emergency procedures for all events and activities, including fire safety, first aid, and evacuation plans. These procedures will be communicated to all staff, contractors, and, where appropriate, attendees.

7. Monitoring and Review

We will regularly monitor our health and safety performance through inspections, audits, and feedback from employees and clients. This policy will be reviewed annually or when significant changes occur to ensure its effectiveness and relevance.

8. Communication and Consultation

We are committed to open communication and consultation with employees and contractors on health and safety matters. Regular meetings will be held to discuss health and safety issues, and feedback will be encouraged to promote continuous improvement.
